Great hotel. From location to breakfast and the rooms in general we were very satisfied. We were also positively surprised by the reception staff (and staff in general). Everyone was extremely friendly, which contributed to us really enjoying the environment there. From the staff member helping us out with our luggage to the receptionist team, we were constantly positively surprised by the help offered to us. Especially the reception team helped us with our leisure time activity plans and went out of their way to get information for us. We ended up switching safaris (to a much better one), seeing the best restaurants and ultimately changing our last bookings for Cape Town so that we could come back to the Hyde during our second stay in town.
Very nice room with a lot of space. Personal was very helpful. The restaurant was a very nice surprise: creative and excellent plates, we ended up having dinner there every night. Congratulations to the chef! We also appreciated the free secured parking under the hotel.
Nice clean suite. hotel well located with restaurants nearby. The beach road is a minute walk away. Nice staff. I recommend it.
A friendly hotel is not necessarily a good hotel but The Hyde combines friendly with quality service, an unbeatable combination. How nice it was to be greeted by a smile and friendly welcome whenever we entered the reception and dining room.
Location is great, behind is Table Mountain and in front, 3 minutes walk is the sea front. Bus stop for the Hop on Hop Off red buses is a few minutes further.
Hotel room was spacious, clean and QUIET. Breakfast and evening meal food was plentiful, good choice and quality ingredients.
A wonderful hotel that deserves a 5+ rating
Stayed here for three nights. Very clean rooms. Helpful and friendly staff. Great position at Sea Point. Good breakfast. Swimming pool with great views on the roof. Spa treatments available and gym. Would definitely recommend .
The modern design of the apartment, cleanliness, room service and very friendly staff extra keen to assist.
I've booked this hotel for a one-week-stay in Cape Town. All my expectations have been exceeded, the staff is more than friendly and always looking for making the guest's stay memorable (in a positive sense). I will definitely be back!
We loved our time in Cape Town. Hotel was in an ideal central location beside the promenade where we could have our morning run.
Everything was perfect, especially the sitting room.
We traveled as a family with 3 children (17,15 and 13 years)Very nice room clean and comfortable.Friendly staff and great service. The rooftop pool deck was nice to spend some time in the late afternoon.
I visited The Hyde during my Christmas holidays in South Africa. The place was much better than expected! My room was great, included a living room and a kitchen, everything was clean. The hotel is in Sea Point, so very close to the beach, I enjoyed taking a walk early in the morning at sunrise. They have a good range of breakfast options, although I stuck to my normal full English breakfast. The staff were very helpful, especially Zubair, who helped us hire a car/driver at a reasonable price, to go to Table Mountain and Cape Point and also enjoy the view at Chapman's Peak. Overall a great experience!
I have been traveling to South Africa for over 20 years,I have usually stayed in local flats so this was my first hotel experience. The Hyde is a small venue providing all amenities needed for a "home away from home' even including an iron/ironing board. From the welcome with baggage assistance, sherry and cucumber water, the reception was outstanding.: Excellent location on London Road in a safe and secure neighborhood convenient to restaurants, shopping, laundry and transportation to town or the Waterfront. The backdoor exit provided an awesome view of Lion's Head mountain while out of the front window I had vies of the sea.. The daily complimentary breakfast offered.many options. I hosted a small luncheon in the dining room which was lovely. I cannot offer one complaint based on my experience. I highly recommend this hotel and especially the deluxe Suite accommodation.
The whole staff were excellent throughout our stay. They could not do enough for my wife and I. Room was spacious and clean.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
Lovely room and great staff. 30 seconds from the sea and 5 minutes in a cab to the waterfront/centre of town....I'd highly recommend it to anyone.
Really good choice for business or leisure stay, good location for beach, easy access to city, lots of local shops and restaurants. Rooms are comfortable, clean and well-equipped, and staff are very helpful.
This hotel was wonderful to arrive to after 24h of flights from Ireland. Very modern, clean and spacious. The pool area and views were spectacular. The food at breakfast was some of the best selection I had on my entire 3wk trip in SA. Had lunch in the hotel twice which was also great quality. As this is not a huge hotel, I found our stay very personal and there were lots of little touches such as the snacks in the room to the board games in reception. So close to the beach also for a nice stroll at sunrise & sunset.Highly recommended!
The Staff at the property where very nice and helpful. The room was clean and the breakfast was decent.
Beautiful cozy little hotel where staff are very friendly and accommodating.
The extras that I requested was done beautifully and perfect.
Was on my Honeymoon to capetown and didn't know we're to stay. A friend sent me a link for Hyde. And by far it was lovely. The room was massive and breakfast was divine. Will always book here. Best value for money.
The breakfast was excellent and the self catering units are amazing.
The Hyde is a great hotel for a few days in Cape Town. Sea Point is a great area, with a good mix of stores and restaurants and is handy for the centre of the city and the bars of Camps Bay or the Waterfront. We were in a deluxe suite which has a good size living area and allowed us space relax after our time out and about. The rooftop pool is quite cool and the staff were lovely.
